Prerequisites

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A PagePixels account.
  • The link to Google Trends' Trending now page for the country and time that interests you. For example:
    https://trends.google.com/trending?geo=CA&hours=24

How to automate taking screenshots of Google Trends' Trending now page

To capture daily automatic screenshots of a Google Trends' Trending now page:

1

Create a screenshot

Log in to your PagePixels account, and click the +Create Screenshot button.

2

Set your schedule

By default, scheduled screenshots are taken every 5 minutes.

For a daily screenshot, update the fields to: 1 Days

3

Add URL

Copy and paste the Google Trend URL into the Website URL to Capture field.

For example:

https://trends.google.com/trending?geo=CA&hours=24
4

Increase Wait Time

Scroll to the Waiting section.

Change the Time to wait value from 1500 (default) to: 10000

This gives the page more time to load before the screenshot gets taken. Maximum is 20000 (ms) *

*Note: If you've purchased the 5-minute TimeOut Addon, your maximum wait time is: 300000 (ms)

5

Check Full Page

Scroll to the Page Setup section. Tick the Full Page checkbox.

This option scrolls and takes a screenshot of the entire page.

6

Add Custom CSS

To remove the Google Trends' cookie banner and ensure the "Full Page" option works as expected, copy and paste the following CSS into the CSS Injection field:

.IS8rG{
display:none !important;
}
#trend-table{
max-height:fit-content !important
}
7

Save Screenshot

Click the green Save Screenshot button (top-right).

Your screenshot automation is officially set, and your first Google Trends screenshot will be taken shortly.
